Quakers? Where!?
Would it surprise you to learn that there are
Quakers in Kansas City? Ever wondered if those
stereotypical images involving wide brimmed hats
and rolled oats are not entirely accurate? Penn
Valley Monthly Meeting in Hyde Park offers in this
course a discussion of the guiding testimonies of
peace, integrity, equality and simplicity that form
the foundation of Quakerism, central to which is
the belief that there is That of God in everyone.
Members of the Meeting will talk about the basics
and let you ask lots of questions. The course will be
led by members of Penn Valley Meeting who have
come to Quakerism via a variety of spiritual paths.
