Friendly Bible Study was created by the Spears to embody the Quaker values of personal insight and group interaction into a Bible study. Each Friend contemplates the following questions and shares their responses with the rest of the group:

• What is the author's main point?
• What new light do I find in the passage?
• Is this passage true to my experience?
• What are the implications of this passage for my life?
• What problems do I have with this passage?
