12th month, 7th day, 2008 The meeting began with silence. The Ministry and Counsel report was heard. The report was accepted. The nominating committee report was heard. The committee’s work is still in progress. It will meet again next week. The report was accepted. The Peace and Social Concerns report was given verbally. Friends met with the offices of our Congressional Representatives from both sides of the state line (Moore and Cleaver) about torture. They will respond with their decisions. Friends discussed the National Religious Campaign Against Torture banner and decided to leave it up. We will also hang a banner under it read “Good will toward all.” The report was accepted. The house upkeep report was given verbally. Friends discussed the water heater and decided to investigate point of use heaters further, and have one installed in the kitchen. The report was accepted. The program committee report was heard. Quaker Education will be on the 21st, combined with potluck. The 28th will be fellowship. The report was accepted. The meeting ended with silence. |
