Minutes, Meeting for Worship With Attention to Business

The meeting began with silence.

The treasurer’s report was heard. Friends agreed to contribute $200 to help a Palestinian student’s financial requirements at William Jewell. The report was accepted.

The Ministry and Counsel report was heard. Larry Herndon has asked for membership in the Meeting, and he and Kathy Weber have asked to be married in the care of the Meeting. Friends heard these requests with joy. Friends then discussed the republication of Barb Luetke’s book Hannie by print-on-demand. Friends agreed to contribute $100 if the rest of the financing comes through. If so, the money will come from Quaker Scholarship.

The publications committee report was heard. The committee suggests moving and redesigning our Web page and electronic presence. Friends agreed to move and redesign the site, including $10 for the domain name “kcquakers.org”; we will think about the other work before we implement it. The report was accepted.

Friends discussed making the second day of the fifth month a work day. The recording clerk will notify the Meeting by e-mail.
