| Dennis Maulsby’s book of poetry wins award |

Dennis Maulsby, a former member of Penn Valley and a veteran of the Vietnam War, has received the 2005 Silver Medal Award for poetry from the Military Writers Society of America for his book Remembering Willie, and all the Others. The book was favorably reviewed in the literary journal Types & Shadows, a publication of the Fellowship of Quakers in the Arts. Reviewer Chuck Fager wrote: Maulsby “… has transmuted some of this weight of memory into some stunningly vivid and tender poems... His vision of Vietnam at war is close up, unpretentious and clear-eyed.” The book is between printings, but Dennis has a few copies available. They are $8.50. Contact him at: |
